Deep gold in color. Slim head. Respectable clarity. The aroma is clean..some fresh hops, balanced with lightly toasted malt. Semi-sweet. Drinkable.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass, "best by" date 1-21-15.

APPEARANCE: pours a mostly clear light amber color, there are fine particles suspended, two-finger head that dissipated slowly until a thin mostly unbroken layer of small bubbles remained, medium carbonation, a good amount of lacing on the glass.

SMELL: the nose is subtle and understated, sweet, flowery, citrus, bread.

TASTE: the taste follows the nose, initially sweet and bready, then a mild citrus hop profile, this is a nicely balanced beer.

PALATE: medium body and carbonation.

OVERALL: this is my first beer from this Deschutes Brewery and it is one of the better pale ales I've had, it was really well balance with a sweet malt and the hops were very much to my liking, the 5% ABV means you can enjoy more than one, the hops are pleasant but not overpowering, I would definitely buy this again, looking forward to more from this brewer.
