To be honest, this is a pretty good beer. For me, this is a porch sipper. It'll do well for bbqs, firesides, and boating trips. It's better than anything you'll get from the big name brands and it's just as smooth, add in the fact that it has better ingredients and was perfected by people who seem to have mastered their trade and you've got a better beer to hang out with than the competition "porch sippers." The flavor is a little lacking, so I wouldn't consider it something i would celebrate with or look for on an extensive menu, but it's a good six pack to have in the fridge for the end of the day when you're not looking so much for flavor, but for refreshment and a reprieve (the ABV'll get ya there). All-in-all, good beer, my friends. Deschutes gave us another gift with this one.

A: Pretty golden amber color. Good head retention.

S: One of the best smelling beers there is. Zesty citrus kick with malty undertones. I could spend a while just sniffing this beer.

T: Deep flavor that demands repeated sips. Starts with hints of tangerine and spruce and wanders into orange cordials and ends with some lingering vaguely dark hoppy notes. Nice fizz. There's a bit more hops and malt than most pale ales, but the balance is so perfect that neither feels overwhelming.

M: Really quite pleasant, a touch of crispness. A tiny bit sticky on the back end.

This might fall slightly outside of typical pale ales because of the big flavor, but it's a fantastic beer. Definitely a worthwhile go-to.

About cellar temperature, in a pint glass.

It pours a moderately hazy, glowing, golden orange with about two fingers of a poofy white head. A pretty beer.

No overwhelming aroma here, but what's there is pretty nice. Hints of lemon or orange zest, honey, and a bit of bready malt.

Delightful flavors of citrus, honey, and lightly piney hops are initially in control, with a crisp, dry, malty aftertaste of biscuits and bread taking over in the finish. Some dank hops loiter around as well. Very well done.

The feel is kind of medium-bodied. More substantial than one would expect from a "light" style.

Few standard 5% strength beers pack this much flavor. Well-balanced, too.
