Brown bottle with drink-by date.
A - Aptly named obsidian black with one finger rocky tan head settling down to a creamy cap. Sticky lacing clings to the glass in wild organic patterns.
S - Roasty and toasty grains.
T - A smooth mélange of melding and weaving flavors without any one dominating; deep roasted barley, perfectly bittering hops, caramelized sugar, baking chocolate, juicy fruit, rich malt, and as delicate a charred flavor as was ever created. There is a faint sweetness contrasted with a vivid and pleasing acidity.
M - Velvety and full, but without heaviness. Beguilingly effervescent. A nice spicy dryness develops in the finish.
D - Impressive and satisfying, this stout walks the fine line of subtle and flavorful just beautifully.
