The color is pretty much obsidian black with a huge tan head like the froth on a cup of hot cocoa. Lacing is abundant and inviting. Head retention is solid.
Roasty cocoa in the aroma, toasted walnuts- flavors come together to remind me of a chewy, nutty brownie. Faint coffee, little noticeable hops.
Flavor is drier than expected. Slightly bitter, black coffee with a faint orange rind. Bittersweet cocoa comes out more when aerated.
Medium-light body, could be fuller. Adequate carbonation.
Overall, a nice, semi-dry flavorful stout that I would by again.
