Dark, raisin brown with a copper orange hue and a light haze. Started with a lush beige foam that slowly reduced to a thick cap that left sheets of sticky lacing on the glass. Sweet, sugary caramel malt aromas with hints of freshly milled grains, dark fruit and chocolate. Full bodied with rich, gentle carbonation. Rich, sweet, caramel malt flavors up front with slowly emerging, earthy hop bitterness through the middle. Hop flavors transition to light coffee flavors as the bitterness fades to chocolate notes at the end. Finishes with a light, earthy, bitterness and a hint of alcohol. Sweet and malty that is tempered nicely with lazy hop flavors through the middle.

On tap at the Local Taphouse.
Pours a red colour, bit of haze. Head is off-white, webbed lace but sticks to the glass. Looks nice.
Smells like banana esters, with some dry sweet spice, nutmeg and vanilla. Touch of raisin. Could have more richness and more robustness, but decent.
Taste is chocolatey. Dry cocoa with some toffee, sultanas and some dried orange peel. Not much spice; more fruit and lots of chocolate. Not bad.
Full body, nicely textured. Slightly dry on the back.
Nice beer; have had better spiced Winter seasonals though, generally better because of more spice.
