A: Pours an almost completely hazy amber-copper-gold with a big bubbly head of white-amber foam on top. Nice complexity in the body. Looks clean. Nice looking all around -- much different looking than other IPAs.
S: Sweet malts and citrus. Some toasted grain. More subtle aroma -- not that in-your-face smell you get from most IPAs. I feel like a smell red licorice. I guess that's some candied fruit smell. It's nice.
T: Very good here. Candied fruits and caramel malts that subside to a dry finish. Not really too bitter. Not the hoppy IPA one is used to, but this has such a unique nice flavor. Really good.
F: Medium body. Nicely carbonated. Smooth and creamy. Nice velvety texture. Some chewiness that brings out the nice malts. Consistently good.
O: Gotta give it up to this brew. Where most IPAs focus on the hops. I feel this one focuses on the malts. Some would probably call this an English Style IPA, but that doesn't tell the whole story. This is a high-quality brew -- definitely recommend.
