Pours a cloudy, amber color. 5/4 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and good lacing. Smells of sweet malt, slight earthy malt, citrus, piny hops, and slight alcohol. Fits the style of an American IPA. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of piny hops, sweet malt, slight alcohol, and a hint of citrus. Overall, good appearance, aroma, blend, and feel.

Nice balanced IPA. Obtained from Beer Trek. Pours a hazy coppery/orange color with a small white head. Head retention is good, thick bands of lacing. Mild hops aroma, nothing special.

Taste is good. Robust caramel malts up front, balanced out by fairly strong citrus hops in the finish. Nice balance, both the malts and hops are pronounced.

Mouthfeel is crisp, sweetness/bitterness ration is just right. There is a little oiliness as well.

Well crafted IPA. Not a hop bomb, but a good refreshing IPA.

Deschutes Inversion IPA

Appearance: dark honey, medium head, and very good lacing. 4

Smell: malty wet hops.

Taste: well rounded hops followed by a nice warm malt.

Mouthfeel: medium and bitter.

Overall:
This is a good IPA. It starts off with a blast of whole hops and finishes with a malty bitterness. It isn't too heavy either.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle to a pint glass.

A- Deep reddish orange, fair amount of hop haze, 1 finger white head, DIPA-ish in appearance, sexy.

S- Grapefruit, and citrus all the way, with a fair amount of brown sugar malt (Not the freshest bottle btw but still the hops are holding very well).

T- Sweet citrus hops, sweet malt. Grapefruit and perhaps some honey?.

M- Medium in bottom, sweet low carbonation,

O- Solid IPA, lots of flavor, very enjoyable.

Beer 2/3 of my Portland Tour
Best by 3/15/12

A- Pours a nice light tan head 1.5 fingers in height over a crystal clear amber body. Sparse lacing is present.

S- Grapefruit, herbaceous, malty, dark candies.

T- Starts out nice and big with big caramel/biscuit and has a very dry/grassy and herbal note. The finish is almost fruity.

M- Big thick body, appropriate of a beer at 6.8%. Low-med carbonation.

D- A decently drinkable IPA. A big body, to be sure makes it not super easy to drink many of but overall, ok.
