Grabbed this in a mixer sixer. I put this on Late Night BA for 7/5/12, I think that Deschutes for me is gaining that level of "have I ever had a bad beer from there? I don't think so..." Their products are generally money, so I am anxious to try this.

Appearance - Pours a deep copper, almost brown color with a nice, two finger creamy white head that hangs around for a while. The most remarkable thing is the incredible lacing this beer leaves on the glass, it sticks like glue.

Smell - Like an IPA, for sure! Big citrus notes followed with grass and grapefruit essence. There is a hint of biscuit malts in there as well, you can faintly smell the balance in this beer.

Taste - Although you may only be able to faintly smell the balance, it is easy to taste. The citrus, bitter, grapefruit hops pop you first and often, but there is a definite malt balance to the drink as well. A hint of sweetness as well makes this an outstanding IPA offering.

Mouthfeel - Adequate carbonation, finishes clean and bitter, just the way an IPA should. Crisp

Overall - As previously stated, the slap form the hops is amazing, with a nice malty backbone. Crisp finish, nice presentation, what isn't to like? Deschutes strikes again with an outstanding offering.

a: clear copper colored body, pretty typical for the style. an aggressive pour leads to a big foamy head overflowing the rim of the glass. head quickly settles to a thin ring with some patchy lacing left behind.

s: big citrus aromas, it filled the room the way that my wifes juicer does when she makes fresh juice. some caramel a little sugar and bread were also noticiable.

t: marvelous! this has got to be one of the best al around breweries in the country. bold mouth watering citrus flavors. sweetness from the caramel malts.

m: nice and creamy with the right amount of carbonation. mouth puckering dry finish from the hops.

o: really nice ipa! seek it out now.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Central Waters snifter.

A: Clear amber color. Aggressive pour leads to a thin 1 finger head that disappears quickly leaving not much of a ring but a few whispy swirls and some bubbles. Lacing is pretty consistent.

S: Subdued bot definitely full of hops. Citrusy hops hit home first followed by the wonderful grassy notes of said hops. Malt not really present in the nose.

T: Man, this is a really nicely balanced IPA with full hop flavors and a nice malt backbone that stands tall but stands back and lets the sweet citrus hops take over first again followed closely by the resiny goodness.

M: Very nice feel. Perfectly carbonated, crisp finish with plentiful bitterness.

O: A wonderful solid IPA. Easy drinker, solid stuff.

A-Clear amber orange, some carbonation, two finger head with great lacing.

S-Citrus, floral and earthy hops, great balance.

T-Grass, pine, some floral notes, end with good bitterness. Some caramel malt balances the beer out.

M-Medium bodied, some carbonation.

O-A great beer, wonderful use of hops with solid balance.
