12 ounce bottle poured into a pint glass.

A - Beautifully clear, amber with a 1 1/2 finger head that lingered. Left significant lacing.

S - Disappointing. Was anticipating lots of citrusy and pine hop flavor, but the malt is the dominant smell here. Guess I was expecting more from a West Coast IPA.

T & M - You get more of the hop bitterness as you drink it, but make no mistake - the crystal malt is the star here. Again, disappointing considering the style and where it's from. It's not bad, but not what I was expecting. It is a bit fruity in the aftertaste, but lots of malt up front.

Overall - A decent beer, but not for hopheads like me. I much prefer a Union Jack IPA, a Stone IPA, etc... much more of a hop presence.

Poured from the bottle a clear amber-red with one finger of light tan head. Left behind a fair amount of lacing.

Quite a malty aroma for an IPA with just a hint of fruit.

The taste was mostly malts with a touch of light fruit and some buttery notes. A touch of bitterness in the finish.

Medium bodied and moderately carbonated.

A decent IPA but I prefer more hops in mine.

12 ounce bottle poured into a pint glass. Decidedly amber in color with a mountainous eggnog head. Lots of hops but lots of crystal malt in the aroma as well. Apples, grapefruit, caramel and iced tea. Flavor is the same but less hoppy. Tastes like malt and hop flavored iced tea. Crystal malt sucks in hoppy beers.

Bottle into a pint glass. Bottle date was the 5th of February.

A: Poured nice amber color with about a 1 finger width white head. Left a good trace the whole beer for me.

S: Smelled good, just could barely smell anything at all. Which doesn't make it bad, just personally I like to enjoy the smell of beer. Citrus hop smell, some grapefruit in there as well, little piney at the end.

T: Very mellow IPA imo, good however. Can taste the hops start to finish with a slightly bitter finish to it.

M: Light to medium feel to it. Slightly carbonated, just enough to get your tongue tingling.

Overall a good beer. Even though it came off as a lighter IPA, very enjoyable. I'll get it again, besides, still have 5 more bottles lol.

Pours a hazy copper amber color with a huge 2 finger foamy tan head that had tons of bubbles in it and faded very slowly, leaving good foamy lacing clinging to the sides.

Smells of citrus hops and grapefruit up front, with grains, biscuit, herbs, tea leaf, citrus fruit sweetness, caramel, pine cone/piney hops and earthy notes like leaves in the forest; nice hoppy nose that is well balances by the malts and caramel sweetness.

Tastes of citrus hops, grapefruit, toasted grains, biscuit, herbs, tea leaf, caramel, pine cone/piney hops, cinnamon, and light spices like pepper and coriander. The hop flavor fades and lets the malts finish the show, with a hint of leafy dry hopping that hides the alcohol well. Interesting in the fact that some sips tastes like an America IPA and other sips like an English IPA – either way this beer is tasty.

Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth, with light carbonation, a medium chewy body and a light bitter finish.

A good beer I would like to see hopped up a tad bit more. Tough to get these on the East Coast so I’m very glad that I was able to try this one from Deschutes.
