Reviewed from notes from stout tasting. 2011 vintage.

A- black, light tan bubbly head and some lacing.

S- lots of oak, coffee

T- again nice oak taste, coffee and some licorice.

M- full body and nice creamy feel.

O- very good stout. Nice oak taste and aroma. Better than the 2009 vintage I had a year ago (don't think it was infected?).

2010 vintage, drank 9/11/12. Poured from a 22 oz bottle into a 8 oz snifter.

4-A- Pours pitch black with a thick 1 finger tan head. Small bubbles of lacing cling to the edge of the glass.

4-S- Roast, chocolate, anise, faint smoke aroma.

4.5T- chocolate, licorice, sweeter molasses, oak.

4.5M- Full body with medium carbonation. Has a nice creamy feel.

4-O- Very good RIS. Molasses isn't overly bitter, and has no bourb

Opened on 7/21/14 and poured into Westbrook Snifter. Not often am I moved to write a review but this was surprisingly delicious.

S: mostly molasses and caramel. smell was a let down compared to the taste...was totally expecting a dextrose bomb

T: a nice amount of coffee, chocolate and ending with a nice amount of roast. the bitterness of the finish really balances the brew out so it’s not overly sweet or cloying.

M: chewy and perfectly carbonated. this was one of the highlights of the brew as it’s perfectly carbed and chewy.

O: I really enjoyed this. Barrel Aged beers had recently been letting me down. Too much cloying sweetness and not enough roast and bitter finish. This was a wonderful reminder of how delicious BA stouts can be.
