2012 bomber to snifter
Pours midnight black with a half finger of khaki foam, absolutely no transparency anywhere. No visible carbonation, good legs and lacing.
Smells of french oak, coffee, chocolate, bourbon, butterscotch, molasses, wine, hops, toffee, vanilla, cherry and other dark fruits, alcohol, banana, a mild malt. Very rich and layered, quite complex. I could sniff this stuff all day
Taste follows the nose very well- up front roast coffee malts, hints of vanilla, oak, molasses and brown sugar, butter scotch, toffee, bourbon, figs, a touch of alcohol, and a strong chocolate and cherry after taste. Like the aroma, there's a ton going on here
The feel is full bodied and thick, chewy and creamy. It's upfront pretty bitter, but has a finish that ends pretty strongly on the sweet side. The alcohol is almost undetectable, impressive for how much there is after only about six months. After taste of that chocolate and cherry lingers for quite a while, really good
Overall this stuff is incredible. If it's this good thus far, it's hard to imagine how it will improve after the best after date. Well worth the hype
