Enjoyed on tap at the Red Hot in Tacoma, WA on 12/21/12.
A: Black oil with a tiny rim of dark brown head. Just as I would expect this beer to pour.
S: Baker's chocolate, wood, and very dark roasted malts stick out right away. Some dark fruit as it warms.
T: Dark chocolate and deep, dark malts from the beginning. Somewhat nutty and cherry flavors mix well with the wood/oak character. Blends very well together.
M: Velvet smoothness, thick, and carbonation is soft.
O: One of the best I've had for this style. Really glad I got to try it on tap.

Opened on 7/21/14 and poured into Westbrook Snifter. Not often am I moved to write a review but this was surprisingly delicious.
S: mostly molasses and caramel. smell was a let down compared to the taste...was totally expecting a dextrose bomb
T: a nice amount of coffee, chocolate and ending with a nice amount of roast. the bitterness of the finish really balances the brew out so it’s not overly sweet or cloying.
M: chewy and perfectly carbonated. this was one of the highlights of the brew as it’s perfectly carbed and chewy.
O: I really enjoyed this. Barrel Aged beers had recently been letting me down. Too much cloying sweetness and not enough roast and bitter finish. This was a wonderful reminder of how delicious BA stouts can be.
