On my second glass of this brew, and it lives up to the reputation. This brew is a nearly opaque black with a foamy brown head, lacing the glass all the way down. Aroma is top notch, lots of dark chocolate, some light coffee. Very thick tasting brew, coats the tongue with a lot of bitter chocolate, cocoa and a slight hint of bourbon; not much in the licorice department but that's OK -- a little alcohol burn comes through at the end. It's a bit boozy, but nothing that alters the taste or chases you away.
Wow, very well-crafted brew, takes its place with Brooklyn BCS and Ted Fidy as my favorite RIS's.
