Glass - Nonic
A - A clear amber colored brew with moderate C02. It produced a massive 3-4 head on a gentle pour, head was pretty soapy looking with craters and a pillowing effect. I got some pretty nice lacing on my glass.
S - A very grainy like aroma, almost reminds me of Lager yeast. Cracker, soft biscuit and caramel. Not sweet smelling, not much hop either. Subtle leafy hop qualities.
T - A little more to it than the smell lead me to believe. I pick up graininess upfront with this rye bread sourness throughout. Not enough to pucker but it's there, along with allot of dryness. Subtle cocoa throughout, little sweetness, herbal hop twang on the finish. Bitterness is low but lingers on the tongue a bit.
M - Low-moderate crispness with a smooth, medium body.
O - Hmm, well I think this is a solid Red Ale. Nothing wowing about it but just a good example of the style, and I like that it's not all sweet and sickening. Pretty balanced. I'd enjoy a couple or more in one sitting. Worth a try for sure, and don't forget, it's organic! Cheers.
