A once-in-a-decade brew, inspired by our festive winter ale. Malt forward notes of toasted caramel, raisins, dates and figs are complemented by spicy and herbal hop aromas.

12 oz bottle, packaged 10/21/20. Pours brown with a small creamy light tan head that retains fairly well and leaves a little lacing.
The aroma is bready caramel malt, figs and fruitcake with some booze.
The flavor is sweet bready caramel malt with figgy fruitcake and a boozy finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, a nice winter warmer, a little on the sweet and boozy side for me.

Dark mahogany body crowned with a thick, creamy head. Fresh and dried dark fruit aroma; prunes and dates;. Sweet and spicy taste; caramel and light brown sugar; earthy spiciness; light black licorice and ginger; mild booziness. Heavy body; soft and velvety; some alcohol warmth; semi-sweet mouthfeel.
For a high ABV holiday beer, this is pretty approachable. The booziness is fairly tamed and moderate. Flavor-wise, it has some classic strong ale notes of figs, dates, and prunes. This is a beautiful and tasty winter holiday ale, bold and and strong yet quite approachable.

The Super Jubel is very tasty. Kinda thought that at 10.4% ABV it would be a bit of a nut-buster on taste, but very smooth and VERY flavorful. A dangerous combination, in my opinion, so respect it. Guess that's why they cut two bottles out of this 6-pack. Anyway, to all my beer loving friends...get this if you can!!

12oz bottle (YAY!!!!!!) (packaged on 10/21/20) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a solid, very, very dark brown, with less than 1/2 inch of tan head that quickly dissipated and left no lacing.
The aroma was deep, rich malts with a touch of dark fruit (cherry, raisin, plum) with no appreciable hop profile.
Fairly similar on the tongue, with just a touch of alcohol heat added.
The body was full, smooth, and had a semi-sweet finish, with a touch of alcohol.
Drinkability was very good, I foresee drinking more during these dark days.
Overall, a very nice brew, get you some while it's around.

2015 vintage drank from cellar 6/6/16
Nose: Raisin, gingerbread
Tongue: Oak and bitter resin. Surprised the notes from the nose aren't present on the taste. Pretty harsh, lots of alcohol. A bit of wine.
Pretty brutal....although very young. Maybe it will develop with age, but I wouldn't think about opening a bottle for another few years.
