On-tap at Papago Brewing Company in Scottsdale, AZ for the Deschutes Base Camp Week event.
This is by far the best I've had of the style. Granted, I haven't had too many, but I thought I just wouldn't like this style because of the versions I've had. Since this was from Deschutes, one of the most consistent breweries in the nation in my opinion, I decided to give this a try.
Copper color with no head.Sour and sweet, smooth, and nothing dominates as a stand out flavor. Not too sour and not the typical smell and taste of sweaty feet. The smell is pungent and bitter as is the taste, but it finishes so well.

The beer comes in a dark rusty reddish brown.
The aroma has tons of tart cherries, vinegar sourness, some alcohol.
The flavor follows with a punch of "old" sour cherries, vinegar, some caramel and toffee sweetness, oak, and then a hit of alcohol.
The alcohol is decently hidden, but still shines through as something that is quite big. 11% is not a huge surprise however. I prefer the beers in the style to be less alcoholic and more refreshing. Still a wonderfully complex and delicious beer.

Cloudy cloudy cloudy. Amber. Small tan head. Poor head retention.
Cherries and tart fruit. Light malt. Goaty funk.
Big fruity flavour followed up by sourness. Nice earthy character than combines with lactic acid. Cherries really pop.
Moderate body with moderate carbonation. Solid.
Excellent beer. The tartness and fruit works well. Nice stuff.
