Poured from a 22 oz. brown bottle into a tulip glass.
Appearance: Clear deep golden color with a nice foamy head that retained well and left nice sticky lacing behind.
Smell: Grapefruit citrus hops are very floral and fragrant. Some sweet malts beneath adds a nice balance. very nice.
Taste: A big hoppy blast of pine and citrus hops up front, with a great balance of sweet malts afterward. Bitter up front but smooth and dry on the finish. Very good flavors here. Like a Deschutes Mirror Pond Pale Ale on steroids!
Mouth Feel: Smooth and medium bodied with just the right amount of carbonation.
Drinkability: A delight for hop lovers. This is right up there with Dogfish Head's 90 Minute IPA as a great example of the style. For a beer with 98 IBU's, this one is not overly bitter at all thanks to the great balance of sweet malts. A very good beer than is very easy to session with. Another winner from Deschutes!
