Appearance: pale orange-brown, slight haze, huge pillow of tight-beaded foam, great head retention, lacey
Aroma: Braeburn apples, caramel, manuka honey, alcohol; dense pine, citrus, herbal hoppiness like sticking your head into a hop sack
Flavor: thick malt smack heavily laced with resinous, piney hop flavor; background of plain bar soap, yeast nutrients, paper, and buttermilk; finishes dryish with a raspy grapefruit rind bitterness
Mouthfeel: full body, gentle carbonation, astringent, alcohol warmth
Other comments: Interesting. This is definitely a "monument to hops" in so much as it's loaded down with them. There's also a strange background flavor that I cannot describe, but it's not necessarily a good flavor. I wonder how this beer would do with 6-12 months on it.

Appearance - Pours a golden amber color with an off-white 2 finger head. Decent retention, resulting in a moderate lace.
Smell - Earthy, citrus. Tropical fruit notes; pineapple and slight mango.
Taste - Citrus notes upfront and throughout. Light earth with a fair caramel malt undertone. A touch spicy. Comes across with orange pith and almost a hint of cream on the back end and into the finish.
Mouthfeel - Medium body, with a light creaminess and moderate carbonation. Goes down with a great smoothness. You wouldn't know this was 95 IBU's the way it goes down; it blows my mind.
Overall - I'm not completely sold on the flavor, but it's good, and the body is undeniably smooth and drinkable. It's really hard to quantify this beer. A bit of oddness going on. Fair balance of the sweet and the bitter. Certainly original. I suppose that's why they went with the name they did.

on tap into a 10 oz snifter. aromas mostly candied fruit. taste has more of the fresh juicy fruit. not too much dankness. little carbonation. went down pretty well, might've enjoyed the beer's characteristics with just a hint less alcohol involvement, less maltiness
