Poured from 22oz bomber into a pint glass. This bottle is labeled as best by 4/16/10.
Appearance: rich orange color with a slight haze and two fingers of bubbly tan head. This is lookin' pretty good.
Smell: the aroma is delicious. Huge hops that present a bunch of characteristics: citrusy, funky, spicy, floral and peppery. What a glorious-smelling brew.
Taste: quite good indeed. For all the hoppiness, bitterness is not over-the-top (though it is nicely bitter). A nicely caramelly backbone allows the peppery hops in first, which then segue into the citrusy and floral varieties. Alcohol is definitely present here, but it almost complements the flavor profile. This is one damn fine brewski.
Mouthfeel: medium body with carb on the low-end. Acceptable for a DIPA, but it doesn't do a whole lot for me personally. Not bad, though.
Drinkability: dangerously drinkable. My first exposure to this beer was having three pints at my local pub, not realizing the beer's imperial strength. Great stuff.

On tap at Boathouse in Conshy.
Pours tangerine-orange with minimal head
Aroma not to prominent of fruity hops
Taste is citrusy hops and tangy. Not overbearing but subtle. Bitterness overtakes the citric qualities.
kind of light bodied with good carbonation.
My wife asked me how it was and the word that came to mind was ordinary. A good beer for sure but nothing that hasn't been done before.
Serving type: on-tap

Poured from a bomber into a snifter. Off white, thick, foamy head, beautiful lacing throughout tasting. Hazy golden orange mixed with a deep yellow honey...nice.
WOW...a big hit of sweet citrus, caramels and fresh baked bread with an apple butter spread on the nose.
First swallow and I'm overcome with molasses, juicy, creamy and sweet. The mouthfeel is nice, somewhat heavy but not overpowering, medium carbonation. Bready malt and hops play together with caramels and toffee creating a rich even middle. The finish is big...dry and bitter, orange peel and peppery...a warm alcohol sensation lingers with the bitterness.
I love this Imperial IPA! I enjoy my IPAs a little on the sweet side...with a caramel/molasses center...this is spot on. Bold flavors and it's ampt up alcohol, (9.3%) along with its 99IBUs makes this a great hop bomb with a nice warm finish.
The only downside that I see...at over 500 calories for one 22oz bomber...you've just eaten a meal...and in my case...breakfast...enjoy...again and again and again!

Just did a side by side comparison with the enjoy by. Very close to identical. Bought a growler fill so was pretty fresh. Very clear in appearance. The aroma was not as pronounced considering this was a dipa but the taste is spot on. Glad I picked this one up.
