12oz. bottle poured into imperial pint glass.
A: Pours a dark amber color with significant amounts of haze. I was definitely aggressive with the pour which resulted in a gargantuan 3" head, off-white in color. The head took ages to finally defale to a 1/4" creamy cap. An awe-inspiring amount of sticky lacing left behind.
S: Lots of citrus upfront. Orange peel and some grapefruit definitely. A little bit of flower and pine, riding on a nice sweet malt backbone. The aroma doesn't exactly jump out at you, so don't be afraid to get close with the sniffer!
T: Seeing as though I'm drinking this two weeks before its freshness date, the hops seem to have mellowed out some. It's definitely still a hoppy brew, but it's definitely sporting way more balance than I had expected. Nice wave of orange peel and grapefruit making up its citrus profile, with some underlying pine and herbal notes. Finish is semi-bitter, but sports a lot of malt presence. Pine resin lingers in the aftertaste.
M: A nice medium body with a pronounced, crisp carbonation. Slick along the palate with just a touch of creaminess that adds great texture. Drinks really easy and actually feels more along the like of %5 - 5.5% ABV as opposed to just above 6.
O: I'm a little disappointed that I couldn't find this a little fresher because I'm certain that I'm missing out on some important fresh hop flavor that would have surely kicked up my taste score a notch. With that being said, every bit of me enjoyed this brew regardless. It's super easy drinking with a ton of great flavor. Deschutes scores again.

12 oz glass into a pint glass over the weekend. Best by 7/10/14, so a couple days past. Oh well.
Looks good, amber with a yellow tint, 1 inch head somewhere between creamy and foamy (croamy?) Very good lacing. Not a lot of carbonation here.
Not getting anything on the nose. Maybe the old snout is off today.
Taste I'm getting is very subtle across the board. And improves toward the back end of the drink. A malt sweetness, with a faint but obvious hop bite (if that makes any sense) Could be affected by being at the end of its best by date.
Mouth was medium, neither soft or dry
Overall, not my favorite beer from one of the better breweries. But still a decent drink.
