-looked great, for the new made up, fad style. plenty dark with a tan pillow-like head with good retention and lacing
-a bunch of grassy hops for the most part. could come up with a bit of roastiness too
-pretty weird. my buds dont know what to think. that grassy hops is in there fighting with roasty/a bit chocolaty malts. pretty good balance i think? pretty crazy beer/style
-good and full and some oilyness. one of the better qualities of the beer
-despite the weirdness and the mouth battle going on, it became more and more drinkable as it neared the bottom of my glass

Serving Type - 22oz bottle
Appearance - Dark Brown With black trace, 1 inch foamy head with some nice lacing.
Smell - Smoked malts, grapefruit hops, some coffee, minor chocolate, some brown sugar, molasses, some spices.
Taste - Starts off with a grapefruity hop bite, mixed with some coffee and smoked malts. A bit tart, plenty of dark fruits also like plum and raisin. Some molasses and brown sugar provide some minor sweetness. Some smokey notes and final kick of dark fruits round this out.
Mouthfeel - Hops start out and coat the tongue. Palate picks up smoky malts, sugars and more fruits. Aftertaste is bitter, coffee and malts.
Overall - Very good. Nice amount of hops, malts and coffee. Balanced well, nothing is overpowered but this beer comes up a little thin and weak. Still, very good, and recommended for the black ipa fans.
