From Notes, bomber into a pint glass.
It pours a lovely dark dark brown color with hints of amber and a smooth caramel head that exposes some lovely web lacing along the sides of the glass. Smells quite hoppy with hints of pine and a touch of coffee, very inviting. The taste is great, hoppy, bitter, lots of pine. It has lots of toasted malt flavors with some espresso flavors on the backend. It goes down smoothly although I do find it leaves a bit of a cottonmouth feel afterwards.
Verdict: One damn good black IPA. It mixes some great flavors in proper balance and with a milder 6.9% ABV it makes for great drinking.

A: Black with a creamy lightish brown head.
S: Lots of floral and citric hops in the nose, and maybe just a touch of roasted malt, coffee, and dark chocolate.
T: Tons of pine and floral hops, yet not overly bitter, some citrus, some coffee and roasted malt. Hop heavy.
M: Smooth and full bodied, a bit creamy.
O: A great example of the style, and one of my favorites from Deschutes.
