Enjoyed out of a brown 22 oz bomber with a "best by" date of 10/08/13. Poured into a 50 cL glass stein mug with a textured outer surface.
Appearance - Body is a deep muddy-orange color with notes of garnet and beams of amber light shining through. Head is about a finger deep and foamy khaki with a smattering of large bubbles throughout. Dissipates after a few minutes, leaving a healthy mottling of foam and moderate lacing.
Smell - A well-blended mix of citrus and some sweeter tropical fruits. A hint of pine resin in the background as well.
Taste - Mango, with some grapefruit and citrus rind bitterness. Balancing hint of maltiness and some spiciness that prevents it from becoming too round.
Mouthfeel - Juicy and on the light side of medium bodied. Light moderate carbonation and a semi-dry finish.
Overall, a fantastically drinkable IPA. The name is well-chosen and one that I will gladly pick up once a year. A full-flavor IPA that is also refreshing.

355ml bottle poured into tulip 28/7/14
A clear dark amber with just a couple visible bubbles but a well sustained thumbs width of foam leaves 6 pencil thin rings before falling, looks sexy
S grapefruit, melon, tangerine, bruised mango, has a fruit candy thing going for it, gummy bears? floral notes, some spruce and caramel
T juicy, lots of caramel, some lime rind, still has a candy thing going for it, balanced for a West Coast IPA
M medium bodied, creams up just stopping short of foam, just a little grit, gummy bears and citrus rind on the finish
O solid IPA, not exactly a palate wrecker like I was expecting but an easy drinking IPA with a solid malt backbone keeping the hops in check
I'll have no problems with the 5 bottles I have left in the fridge but at over 20$ a 6er it might be tough buying another 6 with better IPA's on the same shelf for less money.
