Notes/Commercial Description:
This mouthwateringly delicious IPA gets its flavor from a heavy helping of Citra and Mosaic hops. Don't worry, no fruit was harmed in the making of this beer.

Got this bottle to drink fresh, and it is most definitely a worthwhile pickup, even for $6/bottle. Poured into a Spiegelau tulip.

Looks surprisingly dark, about the color of Alpha King - Deep amber. Nice pure white head with 2+ fingers thickness and great lacing, moderate retention. Clear body.

Smell isn't the most aromatic, but the citra notes are nice, with grassy piney notes complementing the citrus fruit flavors.

Taste is great, very hoppy, juicy citra flavors are great with a good malty backbone. Suprising the a 6% ABV IPA can pack that much flavor and balance.

Mouth is medium, with great carbonation, and smooth. Dry finish.

Overall a superb IPA, worth trying for sure. Wish it came in a 6-pack. One of Deschuttes better offerings, which is saying a lot.

Bottle from a 6-pack poured into a shaker pint glass for the purpose of this review. Color is a fairly light orange-yellow with ample white head of intermediate persistence. I have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of this particular brew in Alberta and I will generally agree that the name is apt. This one is super juicy, with the nose and palate a veritable fruit bowl of citrus (orange, grapefruit, lemon, lime), blueberry (!), stone fruit (nectarines and cherries), blackberry, and tropical (pineapple, passion fruit). The malts are not terribly sweet and I might even be tasting a little grain, along with something more astringent in the fruit/medicinal realm (vitamin C tablet) and a nondescript sweetness that is perhaps somewhat odd ... Almost an artificial sweetner note which fortunately remains subtle. Apparently certain hops can yield this effect. Anyhow, there is also a little pine, mostly in the semi-dry finish. Despite the fruitiness there is a distinct impression of bitterness front to back. Interesting contrast that adds complexity. Alcohol discernable but appropriately so. All in all, this is a great Mosaic showcase, with some unique blueberry and strawberry flavors to complement the more typical Citra elements. Dare I say that it could be just a hair more malty? Anyhow, hope this sticks around these parts.

I first found Deschutes Fesh Squeezed IPA in Springfield, MO at Brown Derby International Wine Exchange and then again most recently in Wichita, KS at Goebel Liquor (Rob's World of Beer.)

The 12oz bottles release a beautiful glowing orange-honey beer topped by an sticky off white 1-2 finger head leaving behind sip marking rings of lace.

It smells wonderful - grapefruit, orange, apple cider, sweet candied fruit, and hop flower cloud around it all.

One of the best tasting IPAs I've ever encountered - west coastal citrus trilogy of grapefruit, orange, and apple; sweet caramels; full on citra hop palate slap.

Feels like what I would imagine as French Silk Hop creme pie with champagne chaser. There's an idea!

Deschutes always satisfies the craft beer lover, but I feel this one deserves an MVP in their lineup. Thank you sir! May I have another?

The beer comes in a beautiful glowing red orange.

In the aroma, it’s bright of grapefruit, sweet pine, lots of candy sugar sweetness, candied tropics.

On the flavor, it’s heavy on grapefruit, lots of citrus peel, then onto that rich sweetness that reminds me of Nugget Nectar. There’s a spicy bitterness on the back, almost rose petals, perfumey bitterness that really sticks on the palate. This has a medium plus lingering bitterness.

The beer does go down with a slight lack of flavor in the front, onto sweet malts and strng bitterness on the back.

Quite a disappointing brew. Not what I expected from a Citra/Mosaic beer. Reminds me more towards a smaller and less flavorful Nugget Nectar.
