This mouthwateringly delicious IPA gets its flavor from a heavy helping of Citra and Mosaic hops. Don't worry, no fruit was harmed in the making of this beer.

Look: Two fingers of off-white head. Gorgeous ruby in color. Nice lacing and fairly active carbonation.

Smell: Grapefruit and grass. Floral

Taste: More of the same. Crisp citrus zest. Juicy Grapefruit. Mild bitter finish. Extremely well balanced.

Feel: A little soapy. Good carbonation.

Overall: Great IPA. Good price. Seek this one out. (341 characters)

Poured a rich deep gold with three finger head that slowly laced the tulip as it dissipated. Grainy aroma some citrus and pine. Tastes very juicy, sweet and bitter...yum. IPA heavenly,,, very refreshing. (204 characters)

Deschutes Brewery Fresh Squeezed IPA. 6.4% abv. Picked up a single at Trader Joe’s for $1.67.

A: dark amber, white head leaves lacing.

S: sugary, grainy, piney, almost with a soy sauce like background to the smell.

T: dark slightly bitter malt, lupulin hops, sort of a bitter citrus peel like flavour on the back of the tongue.

M: leaves a bitter aftertaste but not that syrupy malty, slightly thinner. Refreshing.

O: Not what I expected. I thought I had this on draft once before and it was way different, it tasted very floral. Weird because the bottle isn’t expired until October. This is more in line with what I’ve had before from Deschutes which was OK beer but not great, like there is just something about all their beers that I don’t go for, I think it may be something about their malts? I don’t know. (826 characters)

I have been wanting to try this beer ever since I first heard of it. I was not disappointed. The highlight of this beer is definitely the citrus aroma's. There is a definite grapefruit or orange component to the hop profile here. The mosaic hops add a little cat urine to the mix. This is an extremely refreshing beer on a hot summer day. There is a sweetness aspect to this that seems to distract me but overall I am very pleased with this offering. Even my wife who is not normally a fan of beers with a strong hop profile liked this one. I will make this a regular purchase over the summer. It was very refreshing. I would recommend this highly. (650 characters)

Tasted along side a grapefruit sculpin, and loved both...but so different. This is a much maltier angle on a big IPA. Nose is fruity and floral with citrus and some malt, but is muted compared to some other big IPAs. Flavor is huge, with sweet juicy fruit gum and malt goodness. Straight up delicious and juicy. A great choice for a different style and hop combo compared to other IPAs. (387 characters)

Was surprised to see this rated as world class. Best by 10/16/15
L - good look, darker Amber
S - malt, struggling to find hops
T - more hops in the taste, maybe enough to call it IPA but just barely
F - watery
O - Maybe it sat warm too long or something. Not world class in my mind. (284 characters)

I can count on one hand how many months I've been in the craft beer scene, but this seems like the epitome of west coast IPA. Fruity and floral it's a great IPA I will buy more off. I'm not a big deschutes fan, but this is my fave beer from them. 12 oz bottle poured into pub pint glass

A- A deep, rich, amber/copper color with a good head that left a small white cap til the end with great lacing

S- Fruity and floral nose

T- Same as nose with a good malt balancing out bitterness so you get more flavor than bitter. Love the combo of mosaic and citra

M- Somewhat thin, again haven't been in the craft beers long, but it's not as heavy as some and milder carbonation.

O- A very solid go to IPA, definitely a new fave and good credit to deschutes, who I previously thought was overrated. Will buy again (809 characters)

I don't much care for anything else that Deschutes has ever made...especially their IPAs. This beer, however, is absolutely epic. Usually in my fridge. One of my top 5 IPAs. I won't reiterate what it looks or tastes like. If you get the chance to look at one, you should taste it. If you're an IPA fan, you're highly likely to love this beer. (342 characters)

This is one heck of an IPA.

A fruity hop bomb that is incredibly pleasurable to drink. The only thing keeping this from perfection is the slightly thin mouth feel, a bit more resin and this becomes a perfect beer. (214 characters)

Maybe the biggest IPA disappointment I've ever come across - it goes to show you can't listen to what you read online. HEAVY malt bomb, discordant with the bitterness. A hot mess. (179 characters)

was excited to try this one. the color is nice, the smell is great. some lacing but I expected more from the reviews. the taste is outstanding but the mouth feel is a little thin. overall a very nice IPA . I think I prefer the Grapefruit Sculpin IPA from Ballast Point Brewing Company but this is almost on par. (313 characters)

A- a nice amber honey color. I poured from a bottle and they only had plastic cups. This had a slight head with a thin layer staying entire time. Also had lacing even in a 16oz plastic bar cup. Lol.
S- a huge floral and tropical citrus nose.
T- this has an amazing tropical citrus flavor while not being over powering. Probably my favorite ipa I've ever had.
M- nice full feel for being an ipa. Creamy head texture.
O- try it now. Fantastic. (445 characters)

Toffee bomb, would never guess Citra and Mosiac. Translucent amber hue with an inch of off white head. Minimal lacing. Nose is very malt heavy with a hint of caramel. Taste follows suit with a sweet and slightly bitter finish. Medium carbonation, with a creamy mouthfeel. Reminds me of an English ale. Not the tropical grapefruit bomb I was expecting. It you put it in from of me and told me it was a young bottle of Boston Lager, I'd believe you. (447 characters)

I can understand why this beer gets a lot of high ratings. I think it is good and I drank several, but in the contest of "good tasting citrus like" IPAs I would choose Stone delicious IPA. I am amazed at how much citrus flavor gets into this beer without any effort. That being said, I think there is a little room for improvement in this beer. (347 characters)

Had on-tap at Champs in State College, poured into a snifter

L: Pours a clear amber color. Moderate off-white head... decent lacing.

S: Citrus. Grapefruit and pineapple... and some malty sweetness to go along.

T/F: Citrus all the way... grapefruit and orange peel plus pineapple and fruits. Mild evergreen, but definitely citrus forward. There's a solid malt backbone. Zesty and refreshing.

O: This is an IPA for those that say "but I don't like hoppy beers". This will make a convert of just about anyone. Easily sessionable, and delicious hops without being overpowering. Just another fine beer from Deschutes. (630 characters)

Oily, resinous mouthfeel more like a double IPA. less hops than I was expecting, some floral notes, a little bitter on the end but I thought it was pretty standard. (164 characters)

Dark caramel colored with a not quite white head that retains well. Smell is nice but not as much hop aroma as I would have expected. A bit sweet and rather enjoyable. I wish it was more citrusy considering it is hopped with Mosaic. (232 characters)

Not a bad IPA, but a touch disappointing from this brewery. This sampling was from a 12 oz. bottle, fairly fresh. Previously sampled on draft and it was much better, bordering on fantastic.

Try it on draft. (207 characters)

12oz bottle. Best before 9/15/15 (enjoyed on 6/27/15)

Pours an attractive dark copper-amber body with a thick 1 inch off white head. Some retention and lacing

Prominent smell hit me as I poured it. Lots of tropical fruit, grapefruit and peach. Very nice...

Taste mostly follows the smell . What bitterness there is, tastes slightly tart like a grapefruit. There is also a taste of sweet malt that balances it out very well.

Medium, slightly creamy feel

Overall a very nice citrus forward IPA. If you are going to call an IPA Fresh Squeezed (and charge a little more for it then your regular IPA's) It had better be over the top in citrus flavor. I think this one makes it just over that hill...

Solid from deschutes. I can always count on them! Nice addition to their IPA portfolio along with Hop Henge and Chasin Freshies. Had it on tap. Beautiful hop flavor and nice mouthfeel. (188 characters)

355ml bottle at lulu's waikiki in honolulu. best by 09/03/15. enjoyed on june 21, 2015

a: somewhat opaque light amber, 2 fingers of off-white head

s: grapefruit, lychee, peach, pine, spice, caramel

t: follows the nose, so fruity yet so balanced by the malt and bitterness. has a nice spicy hop bite too

m: medium and creamy, with medium-minus carbonation

o: fantastic stuff, truly something i would buy regularly. wish i could get this back in toronto (456 characters)

A+ IPA for anyone loving a citrus dominated IPA rather than a piney dominate one. Noticeably darker than most IPAs with very nice malt/hop balance. Excellent mouth feel with a clean finish. (189 characters)

Bottle dated 8-27-15. Pokal glass.

Appearance: Way darker than expected. Pours a very hazy dark amber with 2 fingers khaki head. Fairly little visible carbonation.

Aroma: Citrusy hoppiness. A little subdued. Mosaic hops smell a god deal like Chillwave. Awesome retention, decent lacing.

Taste: IPA heaven for me. Really hoppy, with balance. Malt-forward arrival, turns citrusy, then across mid-palate malts develop fully, turning a touch sweet, then into a lightly bitter (for an IPA) finish. I notice there is something really astringent about this beer, and that was in Mirror Pond, too. Perhaps something in the water?

Mouthfeel: Heavier side of medium Carbonation is greater than it appears, but on the lighter side. Somewhat astringent, cleansing finish.

Overall: This is right up there with Sierra Nevada Torpedo; a very balanced IPA. Quite pleasant. Utterly lacking that piney/resiny character of some Simcoe-heavy brews; instead focused on the citrus/floral/tropical/grassy end of the spectrum. (1,025 characters)

Golden amber color and a creamy head that dissipates. Clarity is fine but not brilliant.
Aroma is killer - lots of big juicy hops with only slight caramel malt support.
Spectacular flavor. Well balanced sweetness and bitterness. Huge tropical fruity hop character.
Substantial body for an IPA. Moderate carbonation. Somewhat creamy.
An awesome IPA that is a great example of how to use newer Citra and Mosaic hops. Juicy and drinkable. I'm thrilled that it is becoming more available. (484 characters)

Pours a copper orange with a bright white head that sticks all the way down leaving a web down the glass. Citrus zest and malts in the nose. Drinks really smooth and creamy mouth feel. A big malt bill meets the hops and balances nice. Citrus hops and slightly resinous. Overall, this is a really solid brew and I'll be coming back from more after trying a solo. (367 characters)
