Pours an amber/copper color and comes with a pretty big hit of pine that seems to go hand in hand with the appearance. Definitely has the west coast pedigree as far as the combination of pine resin, hoppy citrus oils, high clarity in the glass, and sticky malt presence in the finish. Aromas meld orange peel and grapefruit. Alcohol notes are subdued but it definitely drinks like a bigger IPA than your run of the mill offering because of that caramel malt backbone. The tacky quality left on my lips after having a bottle of this beer lingers for a while after finishing. Would really like to get this in package stores in CT but alas this is only a beer I can get while traveling, at least for now.

The name will fool but this one is all about the hops. No fruit. Fruit of the hop. Citra reigns in this one. Great food beer. For an IPA this one is great for a hot day on the golf course.

A bit late reviewing this as the bottle label's BEST BY date is 12/18/15

Excellent copper hued body; lots of lively carbonation; very thick, dense, creamy head. Resinous hop aroma with some sweet caramel scent. Clean, fruity malt taste with a fine and intense hop bitterness. Medium-heavy body; some residual sugars yet mostly finishes dry.

Well, I owe it to the brewery and myself to try a fresh sample of this beer. As this particular bottle goes, I still like it quite a bit. It delivers a fine hop bitterness flavor although I found the aroma to be somewhat subdued (probably due to aging). So looks like I'll see about scoring some newer bottles ASAP...

World class ipa. Bend really makes some great beer. Boneyard and deschutes are in my opinion the best brewers in oregon.. but I still have a lot of tasting to do.

I only dock this ipa because the rpm is what got me into craft beer and I honestly think it is just above this beer.

8.79 for the deschutes fresh squeeze
9.99 for the boneyard growler fill up.

Can't wait until boneyard starts distributing beer in cans. Hopefully sooner than later.

Deep amber color. Decent 1 finger, soapy creme colored head. Hops evident at first smell. Very fruity and citrus. Excellent beer. Would recommend to anyone that likes a good brew.

For having no fruit in this beer, it makes the amazing taste and smell that much more amazing. A deep DEEP amber color with almost soapy bubbles and lace make it very visually appealing. Citrus notes abound on the smell with orange and grapefruit being the most profound. The taste follows much like the smell but even easier drinking than I would have expected given the look and smell. World class beer.

Favorite non-Pipeworks IPA. I like this better than all the Ballast Point Sculpin flavors, i find those too bitter.

This beer just has a wonderful sweet funk to it. The hops here are so juicy and fun. The best thing about this beer for me is that it is full of wonderful hops flavor and not very bitter.

Yowzer, the fresh hops! Pour this three feet from your nose and you will still get massive waffs of fresh hops, citrus rinds, cut grass and even a little sweet wood smell. One of the most aromatic brews I've encountered for a long time. Great taste, definitely hop forward, but finishing with sweet and spicy nut and fruit tastes. Finish is a little dry and demands another sip. Great beer.

Pours a copper orange hue with a nice thick off-white head. Head dissipates leaving sticky lacing on the glass and a thin film along the top of the beer.

Smell was a burst of orange, grapefruit, lemon, citrus zest and pine. This smells almost like orange juice its so rich and pungent with the citrus aromas.

Taste follows the nose with a rich array of citrus flavors including orange, lemon, grapefruit and citrus zest. The hop flavors - especially the citra and mosaic - are so well captured and showcased in this beer its amazing. Nice malty backbone is present but does not detract from the hop flavors rather just providing a simple balance. Nice piney bitterness on the finish provides something to balance out the almost juice like flavors in this.

Feel has medium carbonation, light and smooth. Very drinkable and quite refreshing.

Overall a really nice IPA - and very reasonably priced.

Poured on tap in a shaker pint, the beer is a deep, vibrant, copper coloring with a filmy, clingy, low profile, off white head. Aromas of rich caramel supporating a blossom of citrus, heavy on orange and lemon. Solid piney and grassy notes balance perfectly. Big bodied, but smooth and slightly dry, with a citrus sweet aftertaste. The finish is slick, smooth, and with a solid linger of orange rind and pine. Great beer.

Amber with a thin off-white head that leaves strong lacing. Strong citrus aroma with tangerines, clementine and peach. Malt forward taste mixes a caramel sweetness with the fruity hops, same citrus notes as the aroma with a bit more pineapple and other tropical flavors. There's also a touch of pine, and a spicy hop bitterness on the backend. Fairly thin with good carbonation. Nice.

Amber color with little head. Nose of grapefruit, bread, malt and hops. Taste grapefruit, lemon, orange peel, pine and resin. Nice full finish that lingers. Deschutes does it again with another great IPA. Much more citrusy than the others. A must have for IPA fans.

Fresh Squeezed looks like just that - the kind of thing you'd order at a juice bar, not a regular bar. It has a pulpy pomegranate and blood orange complexion. Should I use a straw? Kidding aside, its head is thick and clumpy like Greek yogurt and doesn't relent an inch even as the liquid dissipates.

Lies! Lies! All lies! You expect me to believe all this mouth-wateringly juicy and tropical flavour is simply the result of Citra and Mosaic hops? You're telling me this ambrosial fruit nectar does not actually contain fruit? No grapefruit? No orange or pineapple? No lime or guava? No passionfruit or lychee?

Again, I'm calling shenanigans on Deschutes. It doesn't only smell like those fruits it tastes just like them too; those fleshy, perfectly ripe fruit notes simulate the real thing not only in their flavour but also the pulpy bitterness imparted. Nevermind vitamin pills - consider your daily intake taken care of.

The tremendous variety and spectacular vividness notwithstanding, fruit flavours alone aren't enough to impress me. This beer wouldn't be so striking were it not for a deliciously caramelly, almost sponge cake-like maltiness and an extremely flattering rose petal overtone. It has it all, folks!

Just when I started feeling there was nothing remarkably different one IPA from the other, that one has to dig deep to single out even remotely distinguishing characteristics, then Fresh Squeezed comes along. Even in a West Coast market saturated with ripe, tropical IPAs this one stands out as being remarkably ripe and extraordinarily tropical. It'd be in Radler territory if it weren't so overtly hoppy.

A rich copper color with rust orange hues accenting the beer. A one finger head that has fair retention. The head is off white. A decent amount of carbonation bubble.
The aroma is intoxicatingly hoppy with grapefruit, lemons, resin grass, and yeast. A light toasted malt in the background.

Ripe hops flavors of grapefruit, lemon, grapefruit, lemons, and resin. Pine yeast, and grass round the hops flavors with a toasted malt and yeast.

The mouthfeel is slightly astringent, carbonated and clean.

Oh my this beer is ripping good. Very very balanced and fresh. A very good IPA

Few brews strike me as beautiful to look at in the glass as this one. Nose may be over the top for some, but I have an impaired sense of smell (sinus infection in 2006), so I really enjoy the monumental aroma. Malt flavor/sweetness matches the hop level AND color - perfect balance. I might possibly like the mouth feel a bit better if the ABV were 6.6%, but why mess with with something so near perfection. I would give this a 97/100. I'm also a big fan of their Red Chair NW Pale Ale and the Inversion IPA!

Served on tap at Ekamai Beer House, Bangkok.

L:
Clear copper color with an orange tinge, fluffy white head builds up and withstands with great retention before slowly dissipating and leaving eternal white foamy crown atop. There are plenty of lacing ring and patch along with some fizzy visible carbonation.

S:
Fresh and juicy fruitiness combo in a nose, come forth lychee, passion fruit, orange, pine, floral, while malt at the back stage. The scent is so aromatic and well mellow.

T:
Again load of fresh fruitiness (lychee / passion fruit / orange / hint of raisin) shines first through the taste buds then caramelized sweetness from malt mingled together along with some toasty trait. Hops wrap up before the end and take part until finish with a spice yet persistent bitterness. That pleasant bitterness still continues to leave its long tail by lingering as an aftertaste.

F:
Medium body with a velvety smooth mouthfeel and lively carbonation, the feeling is crisp and refreshing while finish with dryness.

O:
Like its own name, this beer is so fresh and the aroma is out of this world and is the best part of it. Overall, well balance and very high drinkable yet enjoyable IPA.

Served on tap in a shaker pint. Pour is hazy yellowish orange in color with a finger or foam. Spotty lacing is left behind. Aroma is a burst of citrus and floral hop goodness: grapefruit zest, orange, lemon. Taste follows with a hoppy bitter snap upfront and a solid malt backbone. Perfect breakfast /brunch ale. Will be picking up a few of these this summer.

This 6.4% ABV and 60 IBU IPA by Deschutes uses Pale, Crystal, Munich malts and Citra, Mosaic, Nugget hops.

Look-When poured into a nice glass you’ll see a glowing orange blossom honey and copper color with a light golden tinge on the periphery. The lacing and head is off-white and rich.

Smell-The aroma is rich and full. I get bready/caramel malt undertones stacked with dank hops, orange peel zest, a juicy citrus smell is also accompanied by some cedar.

Taste-The taste follows the nose, but is more pronounced. I get cedar, dank hops, a cloying bitterness flecked by bready/caramel malts which aren't too sweet, and a prevalent citrus juiciness that explodes with flavor on the tongue. Then I get hints of mint and a subtle nutty flavor that all mixes well for a robust and flavorful beer. The alcohol has a bite despite being only 6.4% and has a wet and chewy consistency. This high-end medium-bodied brew leaves a hop resin coating on the tongue and fading flavors of citrus and orange peel.

Overall-This brew is delicious and juicy down to the last drop. I’m sure you’ll enjoy this if you even slightly like IPAs.

Poured out of a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass, this beer pours a mainly clear, medium amber/light copper color with a nice white, fluffy head that's about an inchbthicknqhenbfirstvpouredthat settles to a good, thick film layer of foam, a nice thick ring lining the inside of the glass, and decent lacing. Aromas of somewhat toasted caramel malts along with some earthy, floral, citrusy hops. The taste pretty much follow suit, with somewhat toasted, caramel malt sweetness along with hints of toffee that give way to earthy, floral, grapefruit citrus hop bitterness. Good balance of flavors, as this is not overly bitter by any means. Has a mainly crisp, yet also smooth, somewhat frothy/creamy, medium bodied mouthfeel. Has a clean, slightly dry finish. Easy to drink in the good way. A solid effort here.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A beautiful amber-orange-brown that pours a decent head that semi retains. Plenty of visible carbonation. Looks amazing. Good lacing.
In the nose I get citrus hops and alcohol, citrus/malt sweetness.. almost maybe like peach rings.. Plenty of aroma.
A decent hop bitterness punch up front, with some sweetness on the tail, with a bit of alcohol lurking.
Feel is solid. Thick without stick, poundable. This one's more than halfway gone.

Overall? The clarity is exceptional, this bottle says it's bottle conditioned, I'm suprised. They must have removed the yeast in some way, because it's totally clear and there is none in the bottle. I digress.. good aroma, good taste, although there's a fair amount of alcohol in the taste. I also get more hop bitterness than flavor, but it's still quite good, and the level of bitterness is perfect for continued enjoyment.. Great with ribs.
Anywho, it's very good. If I can continue to find it at 8$ a sixer this could easily become a go-to.

So, immediate impression is nugget nectar only a touch sweeter. Pure amber color with a thin off white head. Aroma of fresh berries, orange peel, and caramel. The taste lives up to the name, with flavors of grapefruit and orange prominant. Sugary malt, fairly toasted qualities coming through. Medium plus body, carbonation carries the flavors kust right.-
