This brew pours a cloudy orange which turns yellow when held up to the light with a one finger white head and light lacing.

The smell is musty and dank, wet straw, hay floral hops and sweet malts.

The taste mostly follows the nose with a wheat and malt taste dominating with a musty straw taste but surprising sweetness as well; light hop oil is left on the tongue after swallowing.

Overall this gets the style right with a sweet wheat beer coupled with just enough hops to keep it from being too sweet.

Appearance (4): Pours a vloudy, bright straw color with a one finger white head that dissipates quickly

Smell (4): Orange and lemon peels with a slight herbal spice undertone

Taste (3.75): Too similar to a regular wheat than a wheat ipa. It definitely has that belgian character to it, but i dont know if iv had too many sumpin sumpin ales or what, but this doesnt have the american ipa hop quality i look for in a great white ipa.

Mouthfeel (4): Light body; Silky smooth going down with a crisp finish

Overall (3.85): Its hard to pull off a wheat IPA, it really us. I appreciate the effort put forth, but it just falls short a bit for the style. If this were labeled a wheat ale then i may have rated this slightly higher. It is a fairly clean tasting wheat beer, but something about it just misses the mark for me.

I love Deschutes Inversion IPA, but this tastes too much like a wheat ale to me, with some citrus notes. It pours kind of cloudy yellow and I picked up the citrus on the nose. Will pass in the future.
