A white ale with an IPA. It sounds like an elephant making love to a pig. On the label are instructions how to pour the beer, which is a lot like pouring a witbier. I have 12 ounces to decide its outcome. On to the beer:

A half inch of semi-creamy head sit on top this witbier colored beer of pale yellow and a clouded body. On top the retention is good, as is the lacing. The aroma gives off a Belgian IPA impression, not a witbier with a bunch of hops. It does have vibrancy, with sharp grassy notes, a dry Belgian yeast, and tangy lemon. Different to say the least.

At this moment, I'm just glad that I didn't spit it out, because initially, the idea of a "White IPA" sounded like a palate challenge. Already as it stands, this is at least decent. Tangy lemon is the dominant flavor of the crew. I get some coriander, some grassy notes, moderate hop bitterness which actually is a pleasant contrast. More drinking equals more love to the beer, so a bump in the scoresheet. It's medium bodied brew, with pleasant carbonation and a little creaminess.

I was skeptical at first, but this IPA/witbier combination is not bad. This raises one question; how good would the wit be on its own?

hmmm - odd beer, so an odd review.

Is it a Belgian IPA? not to this palate.. pours zesty clear just like a Hef, and the pillowy head and lacing the same.... on the nose it reeks of yeast and dough and lemon and cloves. Taste is like fizzy bitter lemon soft drink - out of a can - plus a yeast bomb added. Lemons to the fore. Hops are there but killed by lemons. Carbonation is sky high and you can drink easily but it is soo muddled... dry, dry finish.

Too odd, and really doesn't work to this palate. To me, it is a standard Hef/wit with added lemons and a little extra hop bite.
