a: Hazy pale yellow; pours with a medium sized, lightly sticky head.

s: Classic wit with more pronounced citrus aromas. Plenty of clove as well.

t: Earhy citrus and bright, hoppy citrus work well together. The lingering hops clash with the clove finish though.

m: Full bodied and chewy.

o: Not bad, but I'd rather have a wit followed by an IPA, than have them in the same glasd.

On draft at BurGR in Las Vegas.
The beer is pale yellow and extremely hazy with a pure white cap. Aromas of herbal tea, lemons, lemon rind, earth, wheat, coriander, hops. Really, this brew drinks as advertised - a hoppy witbier, essentially. Refreshing and crisp, finishing dry. Prickly carbonation with a tangy, mildly tart, grapefruit finish. Lingering bitterness and coriander. A cool and unique beer.

A - hazy light yellow, with a thin head.

S - nice wit aroma with a hint of lemon

T - nice lemon corriander wheat flavor, with citrus hops coming in at the end. Nowhere near the hops I would expect from the IPA label, but that level of hops would ovewhelm this beer, so I appreciate the restraint.

M - light, somewhat fizzy mouthfeel.

Overall, a really nice wheat beer. I thought the IPA in the name is a little misleading, this is more of an attempt to cross a wheat beer with an IPA, so the hops and ABV are not what you probably expect when you see IPA, but Deschutes balanced the characteristics nicely here.

Had this on 2014-03-27 in Columbia, PA

A - Mostly cloudy light yellow with a 1-finger white head that fades quickly and leaves light lace.

S - Grassy, Belgian yeast, lemon, pale malt, light spice/pepper. Stronger than a typical witbier.

T - White bread, lemon candy, pepper, light herbal with a bit of sour and light bitterness in the finish.

M - Light-medium body and medium carbonation. Not watery but pretty crisp.

O - A nice compromise between a witbier and a pale ale.
