Best by 10/20/14:

Pours clouded lemon-drop yellow with a fluffy white head. Trailing lacing sticks.

The smell is of wheat tang, orange peel, lemon, coriander and leafy notes.

The taste of sweettart mixes with spice and citric bitterness in the refreshing finish.

Creamy smooth, this is an enjoyable unique brew. Witbier meets American IPA, and it works!

A: poured from the bottle into a nonic pint. It is a cloudy yellow with a frothy white head that eventually compacts into a 3mm disk. lacing is not existent.

S: mild floral hops with strong bready yeast. Malts are largely for sugar and fermentation and not sweetness nor color in final product, as expected.

T: light peppery note with estery note then sweetness on swallow. Some bitter citrus near finish.

M: smooth, creamy and slick on initial, then a slight bitter note on mid then clean bready, breathy finish.

O: I think Belgian IPA is a tough style to master. This is a pleasant enough example, but it falls flat of perfect in a few areas.

Acquired via trade from Donkster46 so a big “Thank You” goes out to him. Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a cloudy yellow color, with a short white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains citrus, Belgian yeast, light caramelized malts, some hops and some spice.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of citrus, caramel and some spice. Then a decent hops presence comes in but it’s a bit weak for the style. The malt character is hearty but not too heavy and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and smooth, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down very easily, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, this is a decent beer to drink for a long time if you’re in the mood for the style.

A - Cloudy straw in color with a 2 finger foamy head. Reminds me of a hefeweizen. Carbonation is fairly significant. Head dissipates slowly. 4/5

S - Some sweetness to the nose. Grapefruit and orange notes. White bread. Grassy. Somewhat floral. 3.75/5

T - Grapefruit and lemony spritzness. Slight banana note. White bread. Slight resin on the finish. Some bitterness of orange peel. 3.75/5

M - Very carbonated. Scrubbing bubbles sensation. Finishes dry. Very light and crispy while also smooth. Interesting mouthfeel. 3.75/5

O - Very refreshing wheat beer. Interesting combo of smoothness and carbonated crispness. Nice combination of flavors. 3.75/5
