The Black Butte pours out a nice dark black color with a good amount of brown showing around the edges. The head is nice and tan colored but it doesn't have good retention. The aroma is sweet like candy with a lot of whiskey, malt, and vanilla. The taste is similar but there is such a noticeable black butte flavor and quality to it. It almost even has some Obsidian stout character to it. There is absolutely an incredible oak flavor...so well done in this beer. The mouthfeel is medium-full and both velvety and rough due to the carbonation.
Awesome barrel-aged beer. I'm glad it's nor 100% BA. The blending back on this is incredible. Very well done...I'm glad I have more bottles to store.
