Thanks Dave for sharing this beer!
Pours dark and thick, like a stout--opaque black with a few ruby-amber highlights, but not much. Moderate tan-brown head on top. Nose is big on the roasted malts, a bit of chocolate, some nuttiness underneath. Big roasted malts, a bit of booze, and some chocolatey sweetness on the flavor. The bourbon comes through as well, though not overpowering at all. Big beer, good beer, but I can't help but think that this beer is really just an imperial stout. I love the big sticky, but still drinkable, mouthfeel... This is like Abyss light, which is still heavier than most beers out there. Worth a try for sure!
