A - Pours cola brown into the tulip with 3 fingers of eggnog colored head. Light & fluffy head adorns the top of the glass, dissipating slowly, and leaving a delicate lace down the glass.
S - Aroma of semisweet chocolate, charcoal and orange juice dominate
T - Chocolate comes right to the front, followed by a bit of citrus, but just a faint touch. Alcohol warmth begins quickly. Quite a bit of bitterness in the back, not sure if its hops, or ambitious roast. There's a peppery flavor here too, similar to cayenne and not unpleasant.
M - Very carbonated, which keeps the roast and chocolate flavors in check. Mayh be a bit over carbonated.
O - Complicated beer, one that I was looking forward to. A welcome addition to the anniversary series.
