A - Pours dark black into my snifter with ruby hues when held up to the light with about two fingers of mocha head that has nice retention and pretty sticky lacing.
S - Dark roasted malts, bourbon, rich cocoa, sweet vanilla and a hint of orange citrus and spice.
T - Forefront tastes like orange dark chocolate and is balanced out by roasted malts, spicy chili notes are very noticeable and linger on the palate, bourbon and vanilla take a backseat on this one but still shine through in the end with the peppery notes and slight alcohol burn.
M - Smooth and creamy, medium/heavy in body and well balanced.
O - Another fantastic offering from Deschutes. Can't wait to try it with some age on it. Hopefully I can refrain from drinking what I have for some time!
