Poured to a tulip.
Pours black with a two finger tan head pretty good retention and light spotty lacing.
Aroma is very sweet almost like a barleywine. I get some vanilla and orange with a little bourbon in the back.
Taste hits me in front with a bit of coffee and then lots of booze. I cant really pick out much of the orange. A bit metallic. The alcohol is really in the way here.
The body sits on the full side of medium with a medium yet crisp carbonation.
Overall this beer reminds me more of a dark barleywine than a porter. It needs some more time on it for sure. The bottle recommends Best By 6/15/12. I will be looking for another bottle soon, maybe one that already has a year or two on it.
