Poured as usual into my duvel tulip
Pours a clear light orange with a 1 finger off white head, little retention but has some good retention. Carbonation is apparent within the beer via some thin strings, most of the big beers I've had lately have had almost none...
Spicy in the nose, some wood like char as well as some cinnamon and clove. Candy sugar and some dark fruits are also there.
A little plum, good amount of sweetness, like honey, hop bitterness is nice leaves a lingering grapefruit taste. Some grape like flavors are present as well, warms as it finishes due to the alcohol.
Medium to heavy in body, decently smooth, light in carbonation
Overall, It's good but I feel like something is missing, It's lacing something I cant quite put my finger on, I like it but I dont know why but I dont really want it...

Amazing. Belgian yeast (actually a pretty light touch) along with some strong sweetness from the malt. Sweet like a good barleywine would be, a sweetness that seems totally natural in this context. Most beers that are in the style don't choose to go so sweet, but for this beer it really, really works. Absolutely my new favorite.
