Thanks to James for the bottle. Cheers!
review input from notes
Clear, apricot colored body. One finger fizzy white head is set atop. Retention is rather unimpressive, the head fades quickly. Spotty lacing is left behind but it is minimal.
Prominent yeast contributions noted off the bat. A healthy share of phenolic bubblgum aroma. Golden raisin and grape sweetness. Soft oak lays beneath and really provides some continuity.
Big fruit flavors up front. Berries, pomegranate and golden apple. Yeasty characteristics develop as the beer moves its way to the back of the palate. Pleasant warm spiciness from the rye is noted on the back end, really helping to round out the flavor a bit.
Full bodied, highly carbonated beer. The carbonation lightens the feel on the tongue. The finish is moderate though drier than I expected.
The Stoic was a rather pleasant beer. It is not the quad we are all use to, I for one can appreciate the change of pace. Enjoyable beer, easy to drink. Worth a look.
