Notes/Commercial Description:
Like fresh powder, it’s a seize-the-moment thing. This year we've chased down Virgil Gamache Farms' famed Amarillo hops. At harvest, we rush the hops from the vine to our kettles to ensure we capture the purest, juiciest essence of the hop flower in every beer. Enjoy the bright, bold aroma and flavor that comes but once a year.

Poured in to a tulip. Thin, white head. Clear, golden colored body.

Aroma was grassy and floral. Very biscuity and malty. Some slight citrus as well. Aromatic but not strong.

Taste was a bit grassy upfront, with some floral and grapefruit flavors that followed. Mild bitterness in the middle that lead to some bisuit, mild caramel and a malty flavors. Not overly complex. Malt backbone compliments the bitterness in the finish. Lingers slightly with a citrusy/grapefruit bitterness that was slightly grassy as well.

Medium body, medium/high carb with a dry finish.

Overall a good beer. Could have used a bit more complexity in the flavors as it was a bit straight forward and one sided, but overall it was a good fresh hopped IPA. Nice bitterness to compliment the malty flavors made it refreshing and somewhat light.

Served in an Ohio State shaker pint glass.

Lots o' recommendations for this from my local, so how could I say "No"? It pours a clear sunrise golden-amber topped by a finger or so of lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises grapefruit zest, light caramel-laden biscuit, mild pine resin, and a touch of flowers. The taste brings in more of the same, the grapefruit a touch stronger, and some cilantro peeking through the haze. The body is a straight medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a sticky, drying finish. Overall, a nice enough IPA, especially for a fresh hop deal, but nothing all that special, really.

22oz bomber with a date

look is yellow with some darker orange highlights, TONS OF SEDIMENT. smell is skunky and grassy but muted. there's also an odd musky scent that is off-putting. taste is heavy citrus/flowers/grass with a sweet malty but peppery finish.

good stuff
