Tons of red wine influence. Almost more of a beer like wine than a wine like beer. Yet, I like red wine, so I'll take it.

22oz bottle into tulip.

A: Pours a murky brown with a large and dense khaki colored head that took forever to fade into a greasy film. Sticky sheets of lace were left down the glass.
S: Sweet candied fruits, brown sugar, honey, caramel, sweet gummy candies. Definite vinous quality. Mild blueberry and blackberry.
T: Definitely a vinous beer. Red wine is noticeable and pleasantly smooth. Candied dates, dark berries, slight caramel, and a touch of grape come through as well. The finish is semi-sweet and fruity, and the aftertaste is vinous with a hint of lingering toffee.
M: Medium-full body, tingly and splashy carbonation. Slick mouthfeel, kiss of booze, touch of bitterness.
O: Great wine flavor. An interestingly flavored beer, definitely unique.

A-Clear amber ruby, not much carbonation, one finger head that linger.

S-Some caramel, a lot of grapes and a wee bit of oak.

T-Poor balance. Starts with some caramel and red ale flavors then the grapes and a little bit of oak but nothing comes together well.

M-Medium bodied, some carbonation.

O-A miss by Deschutes, the balance is not there at all, the flavors are all over the place.

We brewed our Cinder Cone Red- the original and distinct - in Imperial form and added some experimental hops to the classic Tettnang, Cascade and EKG’s of the hop bill.
IBUs 70 | Alcohol by Vol. 8.4%

On tap at the Bend Brewpub on 3-8-12

A - Served in a snifter. Dark ruby red with a few fleeting tan bubbles on the edges.

S - Carmel maltiness and some alcohol burn. Still ver welcoming.

T - Smooth and delicous mix of dark fruits, hops, and malts.

D - You can feel the alcohol, but it doesn't overpower. Lower carbonation and a thinner body.

O - Very nice, but one you only need now and then.
