Poured from a 22oz bottle into a snifter. Pours a deep black with a half-finger of light mocha head. I have to mention the lacing, which sticks around nicely and also thick and bubbly. The aroma naturally has lots of dark fruit (notably figs) and bourbon, with some roasted malt in the background. The taste has more of a balance between it all - the dark fruit, bourbon, and chocolate all come through very nicely. The mouthfeel is medium-full bodied with decent carbonation. The ABV is relatively well hidden. Even with all of the complexity, it still maintains that "thinness" which kind of separates this porter from being a stout.
Another nice entry in the BB Birthday series from Deschutes, I'll have to age a couple to see how they do.
