22oz bomber poured into a snifter straight from the cellar. Best after date of 7/23/13.
A- Pours very cola-like, a dark brown, nearly black color. A half finger's worth of khaki colored head fades to the sides of the glass fairly quickly. Some nice lacing is also apparent.
S- Smell consists of dark fruits and booze. Maybe some caramel notes too, not much else here.
T- Nice stuff. Upon the first sip I get notes of chocolate and roasted malts. Dark fruits are noted on additional sips too. The alcohol is apparent and leaves a nice warming after each sip.
M- Medium to heavy bodied, drinks hot, nice warming from the alcohol as noted above.
Very nice beer, I've been waiting to open it until after the ridiculous "best after" date. It was worth the wait, wish I had another to age longer.
