Color is dark brown approaching black, but still fairly translucent. Seved with a modest light tan colored head. Some moderate lacing. Aroma is smoke, char, dark malts and even more smoke. Taste is, well, smokey. There are some dark fruits, well roasted malts, and a modest amount of sweet cola, but damn there is a
Lot of smoke on this one. Medium bodied; a bit thin for the style. Mild astringent bitterness. Overall not a bad porter, bug there is something to be said for restraint, of which the smoke on this beer has none of.
