located next to the airport and near the highway, this is mostly a wine and booze store, the beer choices are decent and plentiful but certaintly nothing out of the ordinary. They have 3 or 4 differant shelving areas for the warm stuff and a bunch of cold stuff in the coolers along the back of the store. Pleanty of BMC 30 packs, they seem to have a luke warm interest in the micro and import worlds. Prices seemed to be generally in line with other area places. I actually was asked by two employees if I needed some help finding anything. You wil find pleanty of drinkable brew here, but no growlers, no Hooker, nothing off the hook or out of the readily available range. Glassware selection was minimal/pedestrian.

The only complaint I have about the place is that the cooler could use some more attention/craft selections. Yes, it doesn't have the biggest selection and it isn't beer-centric as it's a liquor/wine/beer store, as per state law I imagine. What I can say is that the prices, compared to the NYC suburbs, are great. At least $1 - $2 a sixpack less and some of the price differences are even more. Just as an example, I paid $15 for a 12 pack of SN Celebration when the best price I can regularly find in NY is $18. There's a guy who is usually at the bottle return counter who I believe runs the place and is always around for questions and is quite knowledgeable, especially about what's in the store. I scored a 4 pack of GandhiBot there this past summer but it's hit or miss with that stuff, I was told.

Based on past reviews of this place...dating back to 2003, it seems like this place has come a long way. This has been one of my go-to places for good quality brews, until DeCicos opened. I do stop by here when going to the Danbury Mall, but rarely make special trips for this place anymore. They do carry brews that cant be found in NY, like Berkshire.
Its a really large liquor/beer store basically adjacent to the Danbury Airport runway. Not a lot of parking, but I have never seen more than 5 cars at a time there.
They have a monster selection of bombers from all over the world. This was actually the first place I ever saw Italian Craft Brews years ago...they even had a Italian Craft Brew tasting even a long time ago.
Opposite the bombers is another monster selection of 6-packs...arranged by USA to the left and Non-USA to the right. Following the parade of beer to the rear of the store, you pass 12 packs and cases of micros and macros...some of which are usually on some kind of special. The entire rear wall of the store is a long ass cooler filled mostly with the same 6-packs up front, however there are some others hiding in there...along with pre-filled growlers of Berkshire (actually all Berkshire is in the cooler).
The workers are usually looking busy, and ask if you need help in passing. The checkout people are usually really friendly and pass tasting event info along.
Prices seem reasonable.
My only wish is some taps for growlers, then I may stop by more often(although not sure of CT laws regarding that).
Overall, well worth a stop...and worth a special trip (if you dont have easy access to DeCiccos or are already at the mall); however, since you would be so close to the DeCiccos in Brewster at that point, just go there as well...see my review on that.

Q: Good, they have a fair bit of turnover and I usually can find fresh staples. However, the Imperial IPAs are a must check for freshness date. Don't think I've ever bought a non-seasonal DIPA from them (freshness dates are usually a little past prime--though not usually too ridiculous).

S: They usually have lots of people working there, but its a mixed bag. Some are better than others and none exceptional. Occasionally really rude at register, occasionally pretty nice. The wine people have generally been nice. The beer people aren't always on top of the latest releases from the distributor, they usually get the top releases, but sometimes not as quick.

S: They carry most of what you can find in CT, big bomber selection and fair number of Belgians. Cantillon Kriek occasionally appears on the shelf. Very acceptable.

V: On par with other CT stores.

This is less than 5 min. from my apartment, so I end up here a lot, but its not my favorite store by any means

Great place to find all types of beer. Tons of micro and import 6 and 12 packs. The Craft Beer selection here is huge. Looks to me like 200+ bottles. Most of the items have descriptions on them or you can just talk to one of the guys. They have some good knowledge and have been helpful to me. Great selection of liquor and wine as well. Haven't seen a selection quit like this one ever. it is pretty extensive. I'm just trying to keep typing so that I can put this review on the website. I love beer and food. Wine is good in the winter. If a canoe flies over Boston, how many pancakes does it take to shingle a roof??? Obviously the answer is that Ice Cream has no bones.

Located very close to the Danbury Fair Mail in Connecticut.

Fair Grounds is a family owned business that has been here for some time now, right next to the airport.

They have a good selection of beer with all of your macros, quite a few micros, such as Victory, Stoudts, Olde Burnside and many others. Their selection of belgians is good with duvel, delirium, gulden draak, piraat, ondineke, jan de lichte, and others. They also have a solid german selection along with some of those nice beers from Italy and other countries of course.

Good service from a friendly staff.
