A collaboration brew with Green Flash Brewing Co. On-tap at O'Brien's Pub, poured into a pint glass a hazy copper red, with accent on the red, and just less than a 1/4" of white foam head. Head dies quickly leaving no lace.
The nose is pretty faint of rye, malt, hops and not much sweetness. Slight note of alcohol and a bit more rye as it warms.
The flavor is much bolder than the smell and that's where the rye makes itself known. To the likes of an imperial red, this is the baseline of this brew with the addition of a healthy dose of rye that along with a strong hop profile give this brew some twang and unique character. Still low on sweetness, the brew has balance with slightly astringent and bitter overall profile. Nice rye flavor adds dimention more than complexity.
Medium body with ample carbonation and a faint hint of alcohol here and there. An easy drinker and something a little different than the old standard IPA's for a change. A nice joint effort!
Serving type: on-tap
