One of the staples in my fridge. One of those beers that always does the trick so I thougth it deserved a review.

It's pours clear yellow and leaves two fingers foam in my snifter. Plenty of carbonation present.

A floral scent, citrus and yeast. Smells like a Belgian Pale Ale eventhough this is a Dutch beer.

Tastes like you'd expect a Belgian Ale to taste. Plenty Sweet and that typical yeast flavor with a slight hop bitterness.

It lacks the full body that I like so much in the Belgian versions of this style. Good amount of carbonation and a nice dry finish.

I have this as a staple because it's cheap and available in my local beer shops. It's probably not worth seeking out for those BA's in the US or set up a crazy trade for it but if you do end up in Holland and you like this style of beer you should give it a go. (830 characters)

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle at a recent tasting.

The beer pours a clear yellow color with a white head. The aroma is citrus and wheat but it is a little subdued. The flavor is honey, wheat, citrus, corn and slightly macro-like. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not terrible, but nothing to seek out. (323 characters)

A German style 500 ml bottle like used at the Prael. This beer is brewed for de Eem, a founding brewery.

The beer pours a murky orange color with a big creamy head.

Smell is hoppy with honey, dough and biscuit notes. The honey smells pretty raw. There are some wort-like notes in the beer with hints of butter and vanilla. A pretty complex smelling beer.

Taste is following the smell, sweet malt and honey, with wort whiffs. The yeast adds a somewheat sharp edge together with the hops that are aromatic, but at the same time a bit raw. Reminds me of Brewers Gold or Northern Brewer. A well brewed beer that needs a little tweaking. (642 characters)
