Appearance: Opaque amber in color, with a large tan head, and thin fine-beaded lacing that coats the glass walls.
Aroma: Lots of pumpkin pie spices, cloves and ginger are very notable, as well as spicy, sweet alcohol.
Taste: Begins with a flourish of dark and sweet malt, like dark bread dipped in caramel sauce, with a profusion of pumpkin pie spices: cinnamon, cloves, and ginger, as well a orange rind and roasted pecans. As the taste progresses, there is a strong wave of brown sugar and sweet alcohol. Finishes with a lingering wave of spices, sweet alcohol, and a modest flourish of herbal hops.
Mouth feel: Smooth, soft, and full, with slight zesty carbonation.
Drinkability/notes: Over-the-top and very nice, a seasonal delight that makes me think of Christmas in Charles Dickens times.
Presentation: Packaged in a sixty-four ounce Dodging Duck growler, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.

On tap at the brewpub.
The beer pours a hazy brown color with no real head. The aroma is very nice. I get a lot of brown sugar and some hazelnut and pecan notes. The flavor follows suit. There is a big pecan praline character, as well as some cream and vanilla notes. The toffee and caramel malt are complimented very nicely by the big nutty flavor. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
