A: Pours a very cloudy dark orange with a massive ecru head that leaves thick lacing and a couple of thick sudsy chunks on the the side of the glass. Retention is great. Very cloudy and yeasty.
S: Lots of spice, phenols, lemony fruitiness, sweetness akin to clover honey. There's also a funk aroma that shows up intermittently which I really dislike, but it shows up randomly and only after a few wafts from the glass, curiously enough.
T&M: Sweet Belgian malt flavors up front followed by some light citrus flavor, and some customary light Belgian fruitiness (apple and pear). Spice, phenol, grassy hops, and a bit of alcohol all contribute late and on into the finish. Quite nice, but not quite as cohesive or symphonic as other Belgian IPAs I've sampled. Body is medium with a moderate carbonation, but texture is a bit chalky (is this from the large amount of yeast in suspension?).
D: Decently quaffable for the style. Another solid Belgian IPA, though for the price I'd probably stick with Houblon Chouffe.
