Pours a decently clear bright golden color until the yeast goes in, then it's very murky. Love yeast. Extremely thick and rocky, huge, white head that goes absolutely nowhere. Tremendous lacing from the big, rocky head.
Smells of sweet, fruity malts, belgian yeast, banana, clove, candied sugars, Im not picking up much hops in the aroma. Smells like a standard tripel.
Taste is more fruity, sweet malts, bready, belgian yeast, phenolic, honey, slight hop finish but nothing much at all. Has a certain off taste in the middle though. Not sure what it is.
Mouthfeel is rich, very carbonated, with a dry, crisp finsh.
I would consider this pretty drinkable and enjoyable. It reminds me of a good Belgian Strong Pale Ale more than anything else though. Not to take anything away from this great brew but if I want a Belgian IPA, I'll first reach for Houblon Chouffe.

Pours golden amber, big head, nice to see the little blobs of yeast swirling around the bottom of the glass. Aromas of yeast and slight banana with some botanicals. Taste follows nose, bar the florals. Slight sharpness initially. Really smooth example of a B.I.P.A. I like it.

Cloudy, bright amber appearance with a large, off white head and good lacing. Aroma is sweet and yeasty at first, but soon fades to floral hops. Taste is not as sweet as the nose might indicate. Some spiciness, some soft fruitiness, along with a more herbal hop flavor play well with the smoothness of the yeast and bready malts. Finishes on a slightly bitter, fruity note. Well concealed abv.

75 cl bottle, cold in a tulip glass. Started with the aperitif, and through dinner with it.
Colour is a hazy deep gold, with tinges of orange.
There is little to no smell, mostly yeast and this was probably what disappointed me the most about this beer.
The taste is definitely a solid Belgian number with malt and yeast again being prominent, with a hint of bitter hops that grows as you go down the glass. It felt good in the mouth, with a high level of carbonation. Be careful how you pour, the head on this is a monster.
Overall it was a solid Belgian IPA. Not a standout brew, but a very pleasant one that I will be happy to buy again.

De Decervecitas. En copa Grimbergen. Jugando a Gris. Notas herbales interesantes junto con perfil típicamente belga logran sobresalir algo por encima de un exceso de carbonatacion que seguramente aplana lo que podría haber sido una experiencia bastante mejor

January 19th, 2014 - My first visit to Brabant in South Park puts me in touch with a refreshingly novel list of Belgian Brews. San Diego's beer scene is rich with hops, but anemic with the traditional Belgians. This is a beer between blonde and brunette, with a fine head, and a powerful smell of banana and clove, not unlike a hefeweizen. The stand out quality is the flavor, which is beautifully and symphonically mild and balanced. Simmered pears and toasted bread appear on the tongue, with subtler touches of sesame oil and almond, and each sip refreshes this delightful flavor. I could drink a barrel of this, and it's at that point I recognize why the Belgian monks in posters and art always look so cheerful and so round.

From old, undated notes; poured from the bottle.
Murky yellow-orange color.
Nice white head; frothy lace.
Black pepper & bread notes in the nose. Interesting.
Medium thin mouthfeel.
Pleasant mild bread, yeast & hop flavors.
Decent enough, but far from memorable. I'm not likely to have another.

L- Rich gold colour, clear, thin white head and lacing.
S- Mildy fruity and some citrus.
T- A zesty edge, some mild fruits and light citrus.
M- Good carbonation. Fruity richness but refeshing.
O-Delicious, lovely balance, the 'distinct power' of a well made 7.5% comes through, and argubaly seems higher than that.
Enjoyed with lunch at the Belgian Monk reataurant in Norwich, UK.
