A - Hazy dark yellow pour into a La Guillotine snifter with a two-finger thick white head (4)
S - Citrus hops, Belgian yeasts and some fruity notes were detected on the nose (4)
T - Upfront sweetness with some flavors of Belgian yeasts; the middle was fruity with suggestions of peach and maybe apricots. Mild flavors of hops and a slight bitterness on the finish (4)
M - Between light to medium bodied thickness with slightly high carbonation and a foamy smooth texture (4)
D - Very refreshing and easy drinking; fairly good flavors and feel but not much flavors from the hops were detected (4.5)
As a Belgian IPA and supposedly a pinnacle example of the style, I am a little disappointed in what this has to offer. The hops were too mild for me to pick up much hop flavors. On the whole this felt like an average tripel crossed very lightly with an IPA which is not well hopped. It is still a good beer nonetheless but I'm not so sure if it really lives up well to its style.
