I like most Rogue beers a lot so was pretty keen to pop by this place.

Atmosphere follows the SF craft beer pub trend of having no pride in aesthetics. Place felt dusty and cobbled together.

Service was fine, no quibbles there.

Food was so-so, although the chili I had was pretty good.

Value is reasonable.

Beers were great and a good selection of guest brews too.

Late evening on Sunday 3rd Feb 2013: the 49ers had earlier blown the Super Bowl and this place was subdued and fairly quiet apart from one table full of collage kids who had to shout because they appeared too pissed to talk.

The joint is basic and wooden: as are the pieces of furniture. Chalk Board high up behind the bar tells you what's on: when I asked for a ZIA Fireside Chat I got blank looks, my eye sight is so bad and the writer of the chalk board so crap it had 21A (as in 21st Amendment) looking like ZIA: oh how we laughed. The staff loved me, even got some free crisps, or whatever Americans call them. Anyway my wife and I shared 6 different beers and had a very pleasant stay, chairs could have done with some cushions though.

We stopped in for a few beers around around noon on a Saturday. It's near the tourist attractions (Pier 39, etc), which was reflected in the prices but the service was great. They had at least 38 taps of Rogue, Anchor, a few ciders and a couple other random breweries. They had anything you were looking for. We only had an appetizer, the Blue Balls, and they were great. Definitely a great place to take a break from the sightseeing and relax.

One of the stops on my Coastal road trip. I visited this place after the Brewery in Newport. I was in the area and figured I would have a quick beer. The place has a nice layout and feel to it. The beer selection was very good, both guest taps and an excellent offering of their own. I had the Class of '88 Barleywine and I liked it very much. I didn't eat any food, but the food beside me looked excellent. The service was very good, in contrast to the shitty service at the brewery.

I would drop by if you get a chance, worth checking out.

Considering the location, and the fact that Rogue is a very large and established brewery, I like this spot a lot more than I ever thought I would. Even though there's a bit too much merch going on, the overall design of the bar (my preferred spot of choice) is nice. And the selection is heavy on Rogue, yes, but there are also a lot of other beers on tap to try - which I think is the right way to do it. Service has always been good; genuinely attentive and chill.

A great neighborhood pub with many draft beers. We visited this pub twice while in town during off hours and were delighted. When we were there they had about 15 Rogue ales and about 15 guest taps, many that we didn't know and the friendly bartenders were very helpful with advice and samples. Growlers are also available. The efficient city transportation takes you very close to their door. The only food we had was a bean dip of some sort and it was delicious and went very well with our beers. This is a casual, comfortable place with many regulars and visitors. We enjoyed our beers and the hospitality and will be back.

I didn't even know this place existed in San Francisco until my cousins-in-law took me when I was there on business. It's not often that the three of us get tipsy all in the same bar, but this place was that warm, comfortable, and relaxing, all the while bustling with fun and charisma. The well-lit layout encourages interaction with other patrons without the discomfort of sitting on top of people. The service was ok, but at least it wasn't bad. You might wait for a few minutes when you make your trip up to the bar and bar keeps aren't going to entertain many questions. But at least they're not condescending jerks that so many craft beer joints seem to employ. There is a great selection of home and guest beers. I had a wonderful time here and would love to go back as soon as I can.

Late on a Sunday night, when you're staying nearby and La Trappe is, unfortunately, closed, I can recommend stopping in here.

Met up with a friend who happened to be in town and we wandered by several nearby places until we found ourselves outside of Rogue.

The place wasn't terribly busy, so we seated ourselves and went to the bar for our beers. Two large blackboards (one in each room) had the Rogue beers and guest beers on tap. We sat in the far room and were disappointed several times when we made our way up to the bar and the tap list didn't match. Oh well, we still had good beer. Rogue Old Crustacean, 21st Amendment Bitter American, Sierra Nevada Harvest, etc.

I wouldn't call this a dive bar, but the bathroom may qualify as having been transplanted from one.

I was informed the kitchen was closed, but the bartender suggested bringing in food from next door. So in less than 5 minutes I came back with Pad Thai to go with my beer.

It sounds like it's best to go here when it's not overwhelmingly busy. I enjoyed it, and it was convenient. Most importantly, it was open and we walked by it.

Rogue ales is a dive bar/restaurant in SF's North Beach right off of the main drag, Columbus ave. The public house boasts a large guest list as well as features several of their own fresh rogue ales. Rogue, brewed in Oregon, has plenty of good selections, and it seemed like the guest taplist was indeed hand picked. On the day I went in, a Saturday, the waiter was completely incompetent and barely succeeded in the simple task of bringing us our beers. ** I even saw him take a sip of a customers beer to see what it was, because the bartender had forgotten what he poured--so be warned about the service... Overall, if you happen to stumble across this place and can't find anywhere else, it's good for a beer or two, but sit at the bar.

Walked to the Rogue Public House while at AGU in San Francisco.

Selection first...about 10 Rogue beers including a few I hadn't tried before. Bottles of Voodoo Doughnut available too. 15+ guest taps, I ordered a New Belgium Lips of Faith Kick sour ale. Others included beers from Lagunitas, Stone, High Water Brewery. 30+ taps overall.

Bar atmosphere seemed jovial, but the back room for eating was a bit desolate and generally lacking in "Pub" feel.

Food was pretty good, although the fries with my Kobe burger (which was delicious) were bordering on lukewarm when they were brought out. Service was shoddy; the waiter seemed very aloof and cold for the most part and needed several reminders to finally get my table glasses of water.

All in all, a decent place for a pint, but I can't really recommend eating there again.
