Very nice presentation- pours with an amber hue and a nice dense foam head. Sort of a mild aroma reminds me sweet corn. Not much else. Tase is also mild for a beer that is intened to be strong and malty. Alcohol is barely noticed, but it as a warming sensation, sort of a bready flavor as well. This is a nice beer, not one that I will remember, but certainly one that is worth a try.

Large, rocky head. Leaves some thick, streaky strands of lace. Cloudy, amber color.

Excellent blend of lightly toasted malt and flowery hop. Very soft. No yeast. In a word: Superb.

Smooth tasting but not quite as beautiful as the smell. There's a gentle start with a pale malt start. The hop comes through in a subtle way. Short but pleasant aftertaste. Full bodied for the style. Proper carbonation.

Pours a hazy orange-ish to amber color with a light tan head. In the aroma, a sweet malt and a small candy sugar. In the taste, sweet malt and a small light caramel like roast. A small bite and a medium bodied mouthfeel, with a dry to sweet mellow caramel aftertaste. a small sweetness and caramel presence is nice, also hides the 8.5% completely.

from an 11.2 oz swing top bottle

A-pored a burnt copper color with a small head and a tan collar when swirled minimal lacing

S- was dark fruit rock candy, prunes fig and raisins

T- was currant dried fruits mixed with caramelized candy, throw in some spice and some bitter hops

M- was thin in carbonation and bitter with a sweet dark dank fruit aftertaste. lots of dark floaties

O- this is one for me to try once an interesting take on the style that did not click for me,,bitter with dried fruit taste and roasted caramel

The name quintine apparently comes from the name of a witch in local legends.

A: Pours a very clear light amber with a good head. Head retention is decent and its residue is adaquate.

S: A clear of grapes and raisins with a hint of honey and malt.

T: Starts of slightly sweet with caramel malts and candy sugar. Next comes a bitter hop taste which seems to be very typical for the brewery. A little spicy from the hops with a bit of astringence. Good balance between sweet and bitter.

M: A good mouthfeel with a perfect amount of carbonation, not too little and not too much. A bit of a dry note from the astringence.

D: Hides its abv very well, the good amount of carbonation invites you to drink more.

Conclusion: I like the beers from Brasserie Ellezelloise. This beer seems to be a little sweeter and less bitter variation of the blonde.

The stout from Ellezelloise made me very happy. It made me think highly of this brewery, so I wanted to try this strong ale too.
Colour dark amber, hazy with a good head.

Smell and taste is malty, and like the stout it has aroma of coffee and chocolate (allthough not as strong). It also has an earthy aroma with floral notes, and the taste is heavy on the herbs.
Together with the great balance between bitter from hop and sweet from malts, this is again a great experience.

Ellezelloise is on the expensive side at the store, but their brews are certainly worth it: it's another high-class drink.
If you like strong ales with good body from Belgium, the stout and the ambree are a must.

One year old.

Appearance - Amber color with a white head, leaves a lot of lacing but has lots of yeast particles floating around in it.

Smell - Sweet caramel, bread, syrup, dark fruits like raisin, candy and yeast.

Taste - Burnt cristallized sugar, bitter in the finish and spicy.

Mouthfeel - Medium body with a lot of carbonation.

Not the typical Belgian Strong Dark Ale in my opinion, too bitter in the finish. But worth a try!

A year old bottle.

Pours a fair amber with slightly beige head that lasts okay, but there a shitload of yeast floating around here, actually doesn't look too appetizing.

Smell is very candylike with fudge up front and some tones of fruit caramel, but a bit uniform and doesnt offer much complexity, the yeast is also noticeable.

Alot of fudge and caramellized sugar in the taste, and the yeast is not as up-front as I would have expected from all the floaters, but still ntoiceable, the flavours are overall pretty weak and this beer does not overly impress.

Medium body with a light and stingy carbonation, but still manages to make a soft mouthfeel-impression .
